This has some very elementary typos here and there "as" where it should say "us", but I get over it. The 1901 ASV is so hard to find, that there's not really any other fairly priced option.

When compared to other Bibles though, there are far less typos, as it doesn't make the mistake of saying "the LORD" 7,000 times. It's a special blessing to read the Word and Plan of Jehovah with His name retained in it!

I am so glad I did not take the two negative reviews to heart. The ASV of 1901 is such an excellent translation because it uses the Divine Name in all the original locations where it is found, instead of replacing it with ambiguous LORD and GOD, which the KJV does except for four places. The NKJV eliminates the Divine Name completely!! You can say that versions of the Bible that do not use God's personal name starts off with 7,000 mistakes or errors in translations.
So, download this Bible because it is accurate and it only costs 99 cents. The best bargain in format.
The bible is a standard hard cover with a good binding. The bible is double column and easy to read. It does not have anything except the bible, no footnotes, no introductions, maps, etc. The bible itself is written in paragraph form, rather than the verse by verse format of the later NASB. The ASV is known for its exact transaction, more so than most other translations according to many bible scholars. This can be very useful in prophecy or some other passages where the changing of a word to a more easily understandable word can change the meaning of a passage.

However, although published in 1901 the translators kept much of the Elizabethan language that readers of the King James Version will be familiar with. Therefore, the wording can make for difficult reading if this is the primary purpose.

I am going to use this to compare to difficult passages to determine what the actual words are. There are online versions available, but for someone who would like this for there library I would recommend it.
There are quite a few typographical errors in the book. Despite the errors, I greatly enjoy reading Jehovah's name instead of "Lord" all the time. Just one of those things that make my bible reading experience more holy.
I love my bible and use it allot. I would recommend getting one as it is easy to read and understand.
I like this version and the sturdiness was also a plus.
Fairly easy to use. 94 year old mother compatible.
This version is okay. Not used to the Kings James thys and thous. Not real user friendly as far as using it to find verses quickly or at all. Like the Bible (WEB) better.

Will keep this on my , but will use the other one more.

Moving from one book or chapter to another was cumbersome, which is frustrating when you're in a Bible study class and trying to keep up with the instructor. I wound up purchaseing the New American Standard version for $1.99 from NASB. It's very responsive and well worth the money.
